Prof. V.C. Kulandaiswamy passes away

On hearing the demise of former President, ISTE Prof. V.C. Kulandaiswamy on 10-12-2016, I, on behalf of the National Executive Council of ISTE and my own behalf, convey our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of the eminent educationist and former Vice Chancellor of Anna University.

Prof. Kulandaiswamy was vice-chancellor of Anna University for three terms during 1981-1990. Born in an agricultural family in a small village, Vangalampalayam in Karur district, he obtained his M.Tech. degree at IIT Kharagpur and his Ph.D. in hydrology and water resources from the University of Illinois under a USAID fellowship. He was Vice-Chairman of Enperaayam, one of the governing bodies of the Central Classical Tamil Institute. 

Prof. Kulandaiswamy was a member of the UNESCO planning group (1978) for the preparation of the second six-year plan (1981–86) of the International Hydraulic Programme (IHP).

Prof. V C Kulandaiswamy (87), wrote several books on higher education and Tamil literature.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Prof. Kulandaiswamy family. I wish them strength and fortitude to face this loss. He will live on in our memories forever. It was an honor to have known such a great person.
